Overview

For a few unforgettable minutes, trade the beach for the sky on a tandem parasail flight above the Red Sea. From Hurghada you board a speedboat and head out onto open turquoise water, where the crew clip you into the harness and let the canopy lift you gently off the back of the boat and up into the air. From high above, the view opens out — the long resort coastline, the deep blues and greens of the reefs below, and the desert mountains stretching away behind the town. The take-off and landing are smooth, straight from and back to the boat, and you can fly as a pair so there is always someone to share it with. No experience is needed and you barely get wet: this is one of the most accessible thrills on the coast, suitable for first-timers and older children with an adult. The crew handle everything, run through a safety briefing before you fly, and provide the life jacket and harness. The speedboat ride out and back is part of the fun. Bring sunglasses with a strap, sun protection and a secured camera or phone if you want to catch the view — and leave loose items on the boat.
