Mirette Tour in Alexandria from Alexandria hotels and Alexandria Port
A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.
Overview
Your day begins with a guide waiting for you inside Alexandria port or at your hotel, holding a sign with your names. You will visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, explore its open court to see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy I, and spend time in the library’s museums learning about the city’s scholarly heritage. You will then see the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, the largest Roman cemetery in the area, before passing Pompey’s Pillar and visiting Fort Qaitbay on the waterfront. Along the way you will visit the Church of St Mark Cathedral, noted as the oldest church in Africa, and the Ancient Roman Amphitheatre, which was found by coincidence in 1960. You will also pass by the Naval Unknown Soldier before being taken back to your original drop-off location.
