Overview

Along the East Bank of the Nile, you will visit the well-preserved temple complexes of Karnak and Luxor. The experience focuses on these two major sites, giving you time to see their structures and learn about their place in ancient Egyptian religion and society. Karnak is the largest temple complex in Egypt. You will learn that it was dedicated to the god Amon, his wife Mut and their son Khonso. Along the way you will also visit the temple complex at Luxor, gaining a sense of how these neighbouring sites related to each other in antiquity and what made them important to the people who built and used them.
