Overview

This full-day tour takes you by bus from Hurghada to Cairo and is led by a private Egyptologist. On the Giza Plateau you will see the Pyramids of Giza, the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and explore the mortuary temples of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. Along the way you will view the Great Sphinx, a mythical creature with a lion’s body and a face traditionally linked to Pharaoh Khafre, and the nearby Valley Temple, an architectural work attributed to Khafre. After a included lunch, you will continue to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. The museum’s collection includes over 120,000 masterpieces spanning pre-dynastic through Greco-Roman periods. As you move through the galleries, your guide will point out key artefacts and exhibits that illustrate Ancient Egyptian life and the art of mummification. This experience combines guided interpretation with time at Cairo’s most iconic archaeological sites.
