Half Day Tour Visit Luxor And Mummification Museums

Overview

A Tamer Safari Tours representative and an Egyptologist guide will collect you from your hotel in Luxor and take you to two of the city's specialised museums: the Luxor Museum and the Mummification Museum. At the Luxor Museum, set on the corniche overlooking the west bank of the River Nile in the central part of the city (ancient Thebes), you'll see a carefully chosen selection of artefacts. The museum, housed in a small purpose-built building inaugurated in 1975, displays fewer items than Egypt's main collections in Cairo by design — it emphasises the quality of pieces, uncluttered presentation and clear multilingual labelling. You will then transfer to the Mummification Museum, located on the corniche in front of the Mina Palace Hotel and to the north of Luxor Temple. As its name suggests, this museum focuses on mummification, giving you the chance to explore exhibits related to that practice within Luxor’s archaeological context. Throughout both visits your Egyptologist guide will accompany you and offer explanations to help you understand the objects and their place in ancient Egyptian history.
