Overview

See Luxor’s most famous sites on both sides of the river in a single day. On the East Bank you'll visit Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple, two of the city’s principal ancient monuments. As you move through their stone halls and courtyards, you will learn about their historical and religious importance and get a sense of the scale and craftsmanship of these long-standing sacred sites. Cross to the West Bank to explore the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut. The Valley of the Kings contains the royal burial chambers of ancient Egypt’s pharaohs, while Hatshepsut’s temple stands as a distinctive mortuary complex dedicated to one of Egypt’s few female rulers. Along the way you will see contrasting parts of Luxor’s heritage on either side of the river and gain an overall picture of its ancient civilisation.
