On this full-day tour of Luxor you’ll explore the East and West Banks of the Nile with an Egyptologist guide. You’ll visit temples, tombs and monuments that reveal the city’s ancient history and learn about the people who built them. As you move through the Valley of the Kings you’ll see royal crypts carved into the rock. You’ll then visit the elegant Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Egypt’s first female pharaoh, and view the lonely colossi of Memnon. After crossing the Nile, you’ll have lunch at a local restaurant. Back on the East Bank, you’ll walk among the stone paths of the sprawling Karnak Temple and follow the imposing sphinx-lined road into Luxor, Upper Egypt’s ‘southern sanctuary.’ Along the way your Egyptologist guide will provide context and stories that bring the monuments and tombs to life.
