Full Day Tour to Alexandria from Cairo

Overview

You will be picked up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by an Egypt Mo Tours guide and transferred in a private, air-conditioned vehicle to Alexandria (about 220 km). On arrival, the day begins with a visit to the Roman Theatre, where marble seating for up to 800 spectators, surviving galleries, sections of mosaic flooring and a pleasure garden sit among the remains of Roman villas and baths. You will then explore the Catacomb of Kom El-Shoqafa, a multi-level burial complex with tombs on three levels, the tri-cilium where relatives once sat on stone benches to feast the dead, a central area with reliefs of bearded serpents, and 2nd-century AD statues of Sobek and Anubis depicted in Roman armour. The tour also includes a visit to the Alexandria Library. From outside, you will see Qaytbay Citadel and El Mursi Abu Elabas, and you will have time for a free walk along the Cornish. Lunch is provided. The tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel in Cairo.
