From Aswan with Pick Up: Guided Abu Simbel Full-Day Tour (Shared)
A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.

Overview
This day tour takes you south of Aswan to the village of Abu Simbel in Nubia, southern Egypt. You will transfer by an air‑conditioned vehicle to visit two massive rock temples set on the western bank of Lake Nasser, near the border with Sudan. The site lies about 230 km southwest of Aswan and is noted for its dramatic location and monumental scale. At Abu Simbel you will see the two Temples of Abu Simbel, carved directly into the rock and celebrated for their unique style. The larger sanctuary is the Great Temple, often called the Sun Temple of Ramses II. Nearby stands the Temple of Queen Nefertari, also known as the Temple of Hathor; in ancient belief Hathor was the wife of the Sun God. As you move through the site, you will encounter the symbolic relationship between Ramesses II, Nefertari, Hathor and the Sun God that the two temples were meant to express. These twin monuments are widely regarded as masterpieces of ancient Egypt.
