Overview
You will explore Alexandria’s most famous sights on this city experience, starting with the modern Library of Alexandria and the President Sadat Museum. Along the Corniche you’ll pause for photos at the Opera House of Alexandria, the statue of Alexander the Great on Fouad Street and the Unknown Soldiers Memorial. You will also see Stanley Bridge from a photo stop and pass the King Farouk Palace and the Tea Palace as you move through the city. As you walk through the old city centre, you will visit St. Mark, the oldest church, and the Roman amphitheatre, and you will follow a walking tour that includes the Abbo Elabbas Mosque and a stroll past Egypt’s oldest funfair. The tour reaches the site of the Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and you will stop for photos at Quaitbay Castle. Montaza Gardens and Palaces are included among the highlights. Along the way there are optional refreshments: a coffee break at Délices and an optional lunch in the fish market are typically available.
