Overview

This private day tour from your hotel in Cairo or Giza takes you by private car with an expert guide to the city’s major historical and cultural sites. You will begin at the Egyptian Museum, where you can see the treasury of King Tutankhamun, the mummy room and other treasuries and antiquities from Luxor and Aswan. As you move through the galleries, your guide will point out highlights and provide context for the collections. You will then explore the old parts of Cairo, starting in Coptic Cairo to visit the Hanging Church (3rd century), the Holy Crypt Church and a historic Jewish synagogue. After that you will visit the Islamic quarter to see the Citadel of Saladin and the Muhammad Ali Mosque. The day ends with some time in the local bazaars for shopping, with an optional stop for lunch along the way. At the conclusion of the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel.
