Overview

You will be picked up from your hotel for an excursion that takes you to the Egyptian Museum and to Old Cairo. At the Egyptian Museum you will see artefacts from the Pharaonic period spanning some 5,000 years of art. The museum displays what is considered one of the largest and most precious collections of Egyptian art in the world, with over 250,000 genuine objects on show. Highlights include the Tutankhamen collection of treasure, gold and jewellery that remained sealed in his tomb for more than 3,500 years until its discovery in the 1920s. After the museum, you will visit Old Cairo, known as Coptic Cairo, where you can enter The Hanging Church and continue to the Abu Serge Church to see the Holy Cave. The Holy Cave is the place where the Holy Family is said to have stayed during their holy trip. Along the way you will move from ancient pharaonic displays to important Christian sites that reflect Egypt’s long and layered history. You will be taken back to your hotel at the end of the trip.
