Dendera and Abydos Temples Tour from Luxor

Overview

Setting out from Luxor early in the morning, you’ll travel north to visit Abydos Temple. Built by Seti I and completed by Ramses II, Abydos is one of the ancient sites on this route. Along the way and as you move through the temple, you’ll take in the atmosphere of these historic ruins and learn about their role in Egypt’s past. You’ll then return south to visit Dendera, described here as the most well‑preserved temple in Egypt. Dendera is dedicated to the goddess Hathor, and your time there will focus on exploring the temple’s structure and significance. The experience combines sightseeing and a sense of adventure as you move between two important religious sites and absorb the stories they hold.
