Day trip to Petra by ferry from Sharm el Sheikh

Petra ist definitiv einen Besuch wert, die Anreise von Sharm ist aber sehr intensiv. Es dauert fast 24 Stunden, bis man wieder zurück im Hotel ist. In Petra selber verbringt man davon nur ca. 3,5h. Die Anreise von Ägypten aus war zunächst etwas chaotisch, Es dauerte eine ganze Weile, bis alle anderen aufgesammelt waren und teilweise stand der Bus auch einfach, ohne das sich uns der Sinn erschlossen hat. Im Bus war es sehr warm. Die Toilette im Bus war nicht benutzbar, dafür wurden aber Shops gemacht. Der Reiseleiter in Ägypten hat auch immer erst auf russisch gesprochen und erst auch Nachfrage

Very nice tour, by bus and ferry, from Sharm to Petra via Acaba. The bus guide was excellent at managing the differents groups and the Petra guide Karim (he's from Petra) is an exquisite person. Recommended!

Fantastic, everything well organized. We went to Petra for one day from Sharm el-Sheikh on comfortable, air-conditioned buses, then the fast ferry to Aqaba and then the bus to Petra. There were stops to eat and/or buy something for 20/25 minute along the trip, which were important. All the staff were friendly and the guide was very knowledgeable. Loved this trip! I went as a solo female traveller and ended up meeting loads of lovely people on the tour. The tour is long so be prepared but very worth it. Only thing to bare in mind is that at Aqaba, Egpytian customs/officials did not allow take my camera into Jordan due to the lens (I brought my Canon with a 55mm lens) I was told the max was 50mm but couldn’t see any information about this anywhere nor online. In the end, I left my camera with Ali, our Egyptian guide who was lovely and took care of it until I returned in the evening. There was no hassle but it’s something to bear in mind.
