Overview

You will leave Cairo in the early morning and travel along the agricultural road to San el Hagar (Tanis), the delta capital associated with Ramses II. Along the way you will pass the small town of Zagazig and the site of Bubastis, known in ancient times as a place where cats were worshipped. At San el Hagar you will visit the ruins of Tanis and learn about its archaeological remains. After exploring the site, you will continue to Ismailia on the Suez Canal, where lunch will be taken by the water. At the end of the tour you will return to Cairo, travelling back across the desert road.
