Camel or Horse riding Giza Pyramids Desert
The experience
Overview
Seeing Giza’s pyramids up-close is everyone’s must-do in Cairo. Yet it’s also important to view them from a distance to appreciate their scale and symmetry. Riding a camel or horse in the outlying desert rewards you with the best-possible, widescreen panoramas of the pyramids lined up in a row. Plus, you enjoy the traditional experience of plodding or trotting across the sands, and the choice of a sunrise, sunset, or even a full-moon night ride.

Last minute our guide was switched with no notice. Then when we get there, the animals are clearly not treated well with scabs, sores, and bleeding and at one point a camel and horse sat down they threw rocks at them. We expected with a guide to avoid scams or being hassled but they spent the entire ride back pushing us for a tip. I would have tipped regardless but constantly asking while we were still separated from the guide and van, especially telling my children to make sure their mom tips was so uncomfortable and tacky. Do not use this group because they will not protect you from aggressi
We had a blast!! Fun ride, wild experience, incredible views and pictures with the camels and pyramids. This will go down in our memory books.
This was an interesting tour and was nothing that we expected. PROS: They had great communication through WhatsApp and were very friendly, which is why it's hard to share the truth here. The camels seemed well taken care of and comfortable, thank goodness. We had to tip the driver, translator, and two camel owners, so just be prepared for that. CONS: We rode 2 camels very far away from the pyramids, surrounded by garbage, passing by two dead horses on the way there and back (freshly dead as they hadn't decomposed much). There were also lots of kids riding their horses around us, with lots of w
