The driver was excellent compared to other Cairo drivers. The guide I had was very good and helpful. He pointed me in the direction of merchandise that was made here in Egypt. He even helped when I didn't feel comfortable with a vendor and the companies ability to ship to the states.
Our guide, Midu (hopefully I spelt it correctly), was excellent. He listened to our needs and tailored the tour for us giving other options s along the way such as looking at mosques. He helped us navigate the barage of sellers trying to get us to buy their wares LOL. A fun tour to see the real Cairo. Thank you Note-Don’t go on Friday as it’s extra busy with locals going to mosques and October was perfect with temps in the 80s
Our Tour Guide (Jessy sp?) knew many of the shop keepers and which shops were reasonable. Our favorite shop sold leather goods, most of which were produced on site above the shop. We also had a wonderful lunch.
The guide did not prpovide a memorable experience. I booked the trip for one and the operator called and asked if I could push the time back. I told her that I could not as I was flying out that evening. She asked how many were in my party; I told her that I was alone but I had a friend who had booked alone for the same time. She asked if we could do it together. We agreed, however though we paid separately (cheaper to pay as two) we paid for drinks at the meal(this was not mentioned as being at cost to the guest).
I booked this tour after reading the reviews and was excited to do some shopping. Unfortunately, the guide we had was different from the guides mentioned so highly in the other reviews. Our guide, Lydia, was not personable at all. She did not talk much and, honestly, was not that helpful. Based on the description, I thought the tour would visit multiple local markets, but we just went to the Khan el-Khalili bazaar. However, we were told the other areas listed in the description are just the streets adjacent to the Khan el-Khalili bazaar, and they are closed on Sundays (so be mindful of the day
Cairo shopping personalized for you! Mohamed Hamed was very responsive to our shopping needs and desires, and tailored the experience so that we were able to enjoy our time exploring the markets of Cairo. We had an excellent meal, and had a fun time learning more about Cairo from him. We added a Nile boat cruise at sunset (our final day in Cairo), and he and the driver timed it perfectly so that we were able to enjoy a relaxing ride to culminate the shopping afternoon, watching the sun set and then seeing the city at night. It was a great way to finish our time in Cairo, and we appreciate the
