Overview

You will visit the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, together with several other major ancient sites near Cairo. The experience also includes the older Step Pyramid at Sakkara, the pyramids at Dahshur and the site of Memphis, the first ancient capital of Egypt, so you will see a wide range of Egypt’s early monumental architecture. At Giza you will view the famous pyramid group and the carved face of the Sphinx. At Sakkara you will encounter the Step Pyramid, an earlier form of royal tomb, and at Dahshur you will see different pyramid styles that illustrate the evolution of ancient building techniques. In Memphis you will witness the remains of Egypt’s first capital and its historical significance. Lunch is included. Along the way you will have the chance to explore the highlights of each site and experience some of the most important ancient monuments located close to Cairo.
