Overview

A guide will meet you at your hotel and transfer you to the Giza Plateau to see the three pyramids of Kings Cheops, Chephren and Menkaure. There you will view the rock‑cut statue known as the Sphinx and learn about the Great Pyramid of King Cheops, the only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world still standing today and said to be some 2,000 years older than the other wonders on that list. As you move on, you will visit the Saqqara complex, associated with King Zoser and his step pyramid, which is considered the first pyramid in Egypt and the first rock‑cut building in history. The visit continues to Memphis, an ancient Egyptian capital until around 2,200 BC and a cult centre for the god Ptah, god of creation and artwork, where you will see temples and monuments dedicated to him. After the sights, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
