Overview
From your cruise ship in Alexandria, a licensed Egyptologist who knows both worlds inside out will meet you at the port and escort you in an air‑conditioned vehicle to Cairo. On the Giza Plateau you will stand at the base of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, see the Sphinx and visit the panoramic viewpoint where all three pyramids line up for photos. Along the way your guide will share the history and context that bring these ancient monuments to life. You will then explore the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest archaeological museum ever built. Your Egyptologist will walk you through the soaring atrium past the towering statue of Ramses II and into the Tutankhamun galleries, where his complete treasures are shown together for the first time in history. Lunch at a quality local restaurant is included before you return to your ship. Groups are kept small, with a maximum of eight travellers per departure, so you’ll receive personal attention from your guide. Often the tour may be just for your party.
