Overview
Egypt's greatest hits in a single unbroken week, stitched together by short domestic flights so you spend your time among the monuments rather than on the road. It opens in Cairo, where the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure stand on the Giza plateau beside the Sphinx, and the Grand Egyptian Museum gathers Tutankhamun's treasures under one vast roof. From there you fly south to Aswan and board a Nile cruiser for four nights, drifting between the great riverside temples as the banks slide past your cabin window. You'll stand before the twin sanctuaries of Sobek and Horus at Kom Ombo, the towering falcon temple at Edfu, and — on the run south to Lake Nasser — the rock-cut colossi of Ramesses II at Abu Simbel. In Luxor the cruise gives way to Karnak's forest of columns, the royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut's terraced temple beneath the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. A licensed Egyptologist travels with you throughout, meals aboard are full-board, and every transfer, flight and entry ticket is handled in advance. All you carry is a camera.
