Overview
Five days across the three cities every first visit to Egypt is built around, with the long-distance legs flown so you spend your time at the monuments rather than on the road. You begin in Cairo at the Giza Plateau, standing beneath the Great Pyramid of Khufu and the Sphinx, then walk the galleries of the Grand Egyptian Museum below the pyramids. A domestic flight carries you south to Luxor, where you board your Nile cruiser and explore the East Bank temples of Karnak and Luxor before the boat casts off. On the West Bank you descend into the painted royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings, stand before the terraces of Hatshepsut's temple and the Colossi of Memnon, then sail on to the falcon temple of Horus at Edfu and the riverside twin temple of Kom Ombo. The cruise ends in Aswan, Egypt's gentle south, where you visit the High Dam and the island temple of Philae before flying back to Cairo. Throughout, a licensed Egyptologist travels with you, transfers and entry tickets are handled, and the cruise runs full-board so the days flow without logistics. It is the classic circuit, paced to feel unhurried rather than rushed.
