As you move through the area, you will delve into prehistoric times at Wadi Hitan (the Valley of the Whales), a UNESCO site that showcases ancient whale fossils. The expedition continues to the Bahariya Oasis, where you will encounter the Salty Lake and the striking feature known as English Mountain. You will then experience the surreal White Desert with its chalky formations and the neighbouring Black Desert, noted for its iron-rich landscape. Along the way you will spend a night camping under the desert stars, immersing yourself in the Sahara’s tranquillity before returning to Cairo, having explored a range of Egypt’s hidden desert landscapes.
