10-Hour Private Layover Tour: Giza Pyramids and Egyptian Museum from Cairo Airport

My husband and I booked this tour group for our layover in Egypt. We had messaged with them a few days prior and they responded to us. Everything looked like it would go well and we were excited! However, they never showed up. We called and messaged them and heard nothing. We waited almost forty minutes then had to go with a local taxi, which was a little sketchy and we ended up spending three times as much as expected. This was an excellent service. I had a knowledgeable Egyptian tour guide, who took me to the Giza Pyramids, for lunch and to the Egyptian museum, as well as took me to a Papyrus shop and Perfurme shop where I had the option to buy extra souvenirs. After this point, the tour guide left after around 6 hours later. I had already spoken with the organisers to see if I could extend my tour with an additional activity, and added on the river nile boat and dinner cruise in the evening. We looked for ages to find a trip from the airport that gave enough time at the museum and pyramids but did not include unnecessary visits to places we had no intention of spending money in and this trip fitted the bill. Ahmed Gaber was our guide and he made contact the day before to arrange our meeting at the airport. We were collected on time and Ahmed introduced us to our driver George. Ahmed Elsayed was an exceptionally talented tour guide! He expertly shared his cultural knowledge of all the historic places we visited and gave us fantastic tips on where we could get souvenirs for our friends back home. We were also accompanied by a friendly driver who stored our luggage safely as we entered museums, pyramids, and local businesses. One of my favorite moments in our layover trip was getting to ride on the friendly camels against the beautiful landscape of Egypt.
