The signature Safaga dive: a roughly 400 m long offshore reef with a north and a south plateau (18-32 m, dropping past 40 m off the points) and steep soft-coral walls on the east and west sides. Famous shallow anemone field between the surface and 15 m. Depth 5–50 m; day boat; Current-driven. Usually runs from the north, light to medium but can be strong; the site is normally dived as a drift down one flank onto a plateau. The exposed north point is the strongest and can be undiveable in wind. current; visibility 20-30 m. Red Sea coastal protectorate waters; fixed moorings in use, anchoring on coral prohibited.
