Shallow sheltered bay backed by the mangrove fringe of the Nabq reserve. The mangrove stand of Avicennia marina runs for 4.5 km and is the northernmost in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean system. The reserve holds 208 hard coral species and 438 fish species. Shore or day boat. Nabq Protected Area, declared 1992 by Prime Ministerial Decree; IUCN Category VI Managed Resource Protected Area, 600 km2 (Wikipedia).
