The larger of the two Gubal islands, guarding the mouth of the Gulf of Suez. Fringing reefs and coral gardens dived on northern-route liveaboards. The Rosalie Moller lies a few miles to the north-west. Depth 5–40 m; liveaboard only; Can be strong in the straits; the western side is more sheltered current.
