Follow the Nile south from Luxor for a full day among two of the river's finest temples, ending in the easy calm of Aswan.    Your guide and private driver collect you from your Luxor hotel in the morning to begin the drive south along the Nile toward Edfu.

   Temple of Horus, Edfu

   Explore one of Egypt's most complete temples, dedicated to the falcon god Horus, with its huge pylon, columned courtyards and shadowed sanctuary. Your guide reads the carved walls that tell the temple's story.

   Temple of Kom Ombo

   Continue to the double temple on the Nile bank, shared by Sobek and Horus the elder. See the famous relief of ancient medical instruments and the mummified crocodiles beside the river.

   Aswan High Dam

   Arrive in Aswan and stop at the High Dam for sweeping views over Lake Nasser and the Nile it holds back, with your guide explaining its history and scale.

   Return to Luxor
