Mount Moses Sunrise St Catherine Monastery from Dahab

Ein tolles Erlebnis! Unter dem klaren Sternenhimmel geht es auf 2285 Höhenmeter hoch, um einen wunderschönen Sonnenaufgang zu sehen. Wir waren jetzt im Februar vor Ort und es war wirklich kalt oben! Bitte kleidungsmäßig vorbereiten. Auf dem Weg gibt es mehrere kleine "Hütten", wo man ausrasten kann und es etwas wärmer ist. Ca. 50 Meter unter dem Gipfel ist die letzte Hütte mit Heißgetränken und der Möglichkeit eine Decke auszuleihen für ca. 4 Euro, die darf man auch mit zum Gipfel hoch nehmen. Unser Guide war super nett. Um ca. 9 Uhr ist man wieder am Parkplatz.

I didn’t actually take the trip because, on that day, I did three scuba dives and realized it would be risky to go above 600 meters only 15 hours after. The tour company, however, was very kind and tried to find alternative solutions so I could still do the tour. They even offered me a very good price to reschedule for the next day, but unfortunately, I had to cancel again due to lingering post-dive symptoms. Highly recommended for their professionalism and understanding.

Once in your life you must climb this mountain. Its not possible to describe. Need to feel that spscial atmosphere. Hike at night is not easy, but worth milion times. When you see sunrise on the top of the mountain, it is just breath and mind taking. Do not forget warm clothes.
