活动介绍

Egypt's story didn't begin with the pyramids. Long before the first dynasty, ancient peoples left their mark across the Eastern and Western Deserts and the Nile Valley — in the form of rock art dating as far back as 8000 BC. Animals, humans and landscapes etched into stone offer a rare window into Egypt's ancient environment, culture and the very ideas that became foundational to Egyptian religion and civilization. Join Distinguished University Professor Salima Ikram, holder of the Amelia Peabody Chair in Egyptology at AUC, as she introduces Egypt's remarkable rock art — and the world that existed long before the monuments we know today.
