Built under the 15th of May Bridge on a strip of the Zamalek waterfront nobody else wanted, El Sawy runs the highest-frequency independent programme in Cairo — roughly twenty events every eleven days across the River, Wisdom and Nile halls. Prices run from free to about 450 EGP, and the crowd skews young, local and there for the music rather than the scene. Bookings go through the venue's own site. Note that the entrance is genuinely easy to miss: it's the underpass, not the street above.
Built under the 15th of May Bridge on a strip of Zamalek riverbank nobody else wanted, El Sawy runs something almost every night across three halls — River, Wisdom and the Nile University space. The programming is genuinely local and genuinely cheap: free up to about 450 EGP, mostly Egyptian bands, poetry nights and student showcases rather than touring acts. It is the highest-frequency independent venue in Cairo and almost invisible on the aggregators. Tickets are sold on the door and online, and the halls are small enough that a popular night sells out. The entrance under the bridge underpass is easy to walk straight past.
