Exhibition Open Call

An open call to all AUC community! This invitation is open to all AUC students, staff and faculty to reflect on thresholds as states of transition, the space between one condition and another, where change, uncertainty and new possibilities emerge. A threshold can take visible form: a doorway, an arch, a bridge, a river, a border, a wall, a staircase, a construction site. In Arabic, عتبة ( ‘ataba ) names this space: the doorstep one treads to pass from one side to another. But a threshold is never only physical. It can be emotional, social, political, ecological, cultural or spiritual: an in-between state where identities, memories and possibilities stay open, letting new ways of seeing, thinking and creating emerge.
