Hot Air Balloon Over the Pyramids vs Luxor: Which Should You Do?

Quick answer: They are two different experiences. Over the Giza Pyramids you can now ride a tethered helium balloon that rises about 150 m for ~15 minutes on a cable (new in 2026). In Luxor you take a real free-flying hot air balloon at sunrise, drifting 40–60 minutes over the temples and tombs of the West Bank. If you want the classic "hot air balloon in Egypt" experience, that's Luxor. If you want a quick elevated view of the Giza skyline, that's the new tethered balloon.
