This half-day safari trades the beach for the Eastern Desert, timed so you cross the dunes in the golden late-afternoon light and end the evening under the stars. You set off from your Hurghada hotel by 4x4 jeep, bumping inland over sand tracks and low rocky hills, with a stop to watch the sun drop behind the desert and turn everything copper and pink. At a Bedouin village you climb aboard a camel for a short ride, then sit for sweet Bedouin tea and a look at how desert families live away from the coast. As the light fades you gather at a desert camp for a barbecue dinner and a folklore show, with tanoura spinning and music around the fire. The finale is the sky itself: with the resort glow far behind you, a guide sets up a telescope and picks out planets, star clusters and constellations in some of the clearest night skies in Egypt. Transfers, dinner and all the activities are arranged for you, so the evening runs without any planning on your part. It is an easy, family-friendly outing that packs desert driving, a camel ride, dinner, a show and stargazing into a single half day.
