The American University's public programme, staged on its original Tahrir Square campus rather than the New Cairo one. It publishes further ahead than anything else in Egypt — events are listed a year or more out — and covers theatre, film, talks and music, largely open to the public. It is a university campus, so bring ID for the security gate, and allow a few minutes to get through it.
The American University's Downtown campus on Tahrir Square, programming public talks, concerts and theatre out of Ewart Memorial Hall and the Falaki stages. Its calendar runs further ahead than anything else in Egypt — events are published months out, sometimes into the following year — and almost all of it is open to the public rather than to students. Entry is through a university gate, so bring ID and allow a few minutes. Most events use a registration link rather than a paid ticket.
