At Siwa Oasis you will spend time among wide dunes, salty lakes and traditional mudbrick settlements. The experience includes visits to the Great Sand Sea and to Lake Siwa, where you will float in its saline waters. You will also swim in Cleopatra's Pool, a natural spring that is said to have healing properties. As you move through the oasis, you will hike to the top of the Mountain of the Dead, a cemetery site dating back to the 7th century BC, and visit the Temple of the Oracle of Amun, a 2,000-year-old temple that was once a place of pilgrimage for ancient Egyptians. Along the way you will explore a traditional Siwa House, a typical mudbrick home that shows local life and architecture. The experience blends landscape, history and local culture for a rounded look at this unique part of Egypt.
