You will be picked up from your hotel for a visit to the Sakkara Pyramid (Step Pyramid), built by King Djoser in 2648 BC as his tomb. At Sakkara you will see one of Egypt’s earliest monumental stone structures and learn about its place in the development of ancient Egyptian architecture. As you move through the site, you can take in the pyramid’s distinctive stepped shape and the surrounding archaeological features. The trip continues to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, where you will explore its historic remains and get a sense of the city’s past importance. Along the way you will stop for lunch at a local restaurant before being taken back to your hotel. The experience focuses on these key sites and offers time to see the Step Pyramid, the ruins of Memphis, and enjoy a local meal.
