Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle and take you to the city’s top sights. At the Egyptian Museum you will explore the pharaohs’ treasures with a local guide, learning about the artefacts and ancient history that shaped the capital. After lunch, you will head to the Giza Plateau to see the Pyramids of Giza, the only remaining wonder of the Ancient World. You will enjoy panoramic views of the Pyramids of Khufu (Cheops), Chephren and Mykerinus, then continue around the plateau to see the iconic Sphinx, described here as the largest statue on earth at 72 metres in length and 23 metres high. The day ends with a visit to Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s colourful old bazaar, where you can browse Egyptian souvenirs such as ornate free‑standing tobacco pipes and other decorative items, before being transferred back to your hotel in Downtown Cairo.
