This experience takes you to some of Egypt’s most famous pyramids. You will visit the Giza Pyramids, the Step Pyramid at Sakkara and the pyramids at Dahshur — the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid. The sequence of sites gives a clear sense of the variety of ancient monumental architecture. As you move through the complex of monuments, you will see how building techniques evolved. The stepped design at Sakkara shows an early approach to monumental tombs, while Dahshur’s Bent Pyramid and Red Pyramid illustrate changes in slope and construction methods. At Giza you will encounter the more refined forms that followed these experiments. Along the way you will explore architectural differences and learn about the development of Ancient Egyptian building techniques.
