You will explore aspects of daily life in ancient Egypt by visiting tombs in two distinct burial areas: the Valley of the Workers and the Valley of the Nobles. As you move through these burial sites, you will see how ordinary people and members of higher social ranks were commemorated, and gain a clearer sense of work, household life and social roles in the past through the tombs themselves. Alongside the tomb visits, you will also walk around the stunning Temple of the great, late Ramses the 2nd. The temple provides a striking contrast to the workers’ and nobles’ burial sites and adds a royal dimension to the story of ancient Egyptian life and belief. Throughout the experience, you will encounter elements that together illustrate both everyday existence and the monumental legacy of Egypt’s past.
