Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel for an excursion to Menial Palace. At the palace you will visit Mohamed Ali’s home and rooms, explore the unique Planet garden and see the Mummified Animal Museum. You will also view the palace treasury and the meeting rooms as you move through the complex. After the palace, the tour continues to the Nilometer on Al Roda Island, where you will see an ancient device once used to measure the Nile’s water level. You will then go to the Cairo Tower, which you can photograph from below or from observation points for a panoramic view of the city. The Cairo Tower (also called El Gezira Tower or Borg Al Qahari in Arabic) is considered one of the most prominent features of the Egyptian capital; its partially open lattice-work design is intended to evoke a lotus plant. Along the way your guide will provide commentary and context for each site. At the end of the outing you will be transferred back to your hotel.
