On Luxor’s West Bank you’ll continue exploring the city’s ancient funerary landscape. The tour begins at the Valley of the Queens, where you’ll explore some of the underground tombs of the queens. Along the way you’ll see colourful wall paintings and hear about ancient Egyptian beliefs surrounding death and the afterlife. You’ll also visit Medinet Habu Temple and the Valley (Tombs) of the Workers, known as the Village of Dayr al-Madina. At Dayr al-Madina you’ll see the ruins of the mud‑brick village where the workers lived and the richly decorated tombs they built. The visit combines temple architecture, daily-life remains and funerary art to give a broader picture of life and death on Luxor’s West Bank.
