A sunrise hot air balloon trip over Luxor will give you a bird’s-eye view of the Nile valley before you see the city’s main sights on both the East and West Banks. As you move through the necropolis and temple areas, you’ll visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and learn about her temple and her story with her nephew. You’ll also see the Temple of Medinat Habu, a memorial dedicated to King Ramses III, and explore the Valley of the Queens, an area of ancient tombs where Egypt’s queens and princesses were laid to rest. After lunch, you’ll immerse yourself in the vast Temple of Karnak, one of the largest ancient religious complexes in the world. The experience concludes with a visit to Luxor Temple, constructed approximately 1400 BCE and known in Egyptian as ipet resyt, “the southern sanctuary.” Throughout the day you’ll move between major monuments and gain perspective on Luxor’s history from above and on the ground.
