You will visit some of the most famous ancient sites near Cairo: the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, the older Step Pyramid at Sakkara, the Dahshur pyramids and Memphis, the first ancient capital of Egypt. As you move between the sites, you will see contrasting pyramid styles and the monumental stonework that marks different periods of ancient Egyptian history. The Sphinx and the layered forms of the pyramids offer clear examples of how royal tomb architecture developed over time. Along the way, you will have time to take in the scale and detail of these landmarks and to photograph the ruins and desert landscapes that surround them. Lunch is included.
