Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor, from your Nile cruise or from Luxor airport in a private air‑conditioned vehicle to start a day of ancient sites. You will visit the Valley of the Kings and see the impressive burial architecture where many pharaohs were laid to rest. Among the most well known tombs you will learn about are Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tut‑Ankh‑Amon, King Ramssess VI, King Mrenptah and Amonhotep II. You will then move on to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, also known as El Dir El Bahari. This temple was built by Queen Hatshepsut, the daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt for about 20 years during the 18th Dynasty (approximately 1490–1469 B.C.). Hatshepsut is noted as the only pharaonic woman who reigned in ancient Egypt. The final stop will be the Colossi of Memnon, the remaining statues from the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. Along the way your guide will explain the history and significance of each site, and after visiting the Colossi of Memnon you will be taken back to your hotel.
