On this guided day tour of ancient Egypt, you will cross expansive desert landscapes to visit the Giza Pyramids of the 4th dynasty. At Giza you will see the Great Pyramid, the Khafrah Pyramid and the Mykrinos Pyramid, and learn about the theories and secrets behind their construction while taking in their immense scale. You will also stand before the Great Sphinx of Giza and walk around the Valley Temple of Khafre, treading the same legendary ground as the pharaohs. You will then head to the Sakkara Step Pyramid of the 3rd dynasty, the oldest stone funerary complex in Egypt, and walk through its corridors where tomb walls are painted with scenes of daily life. Finally, the tour will include the ancient Dahshur Pyramids, where you will have the opportunity to step inside and explore some of their hidden corridors. Along the way, commentary will provide historical context to help you understand the sites you are seeing.
