A tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Giza Plateau to visit the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. You will also see the Great Sphinx, with its pharaonic head and lion’s body, and visit the Valley Temple that belongs to Chephren’s pyramid. Along the way you will pause for lunch at a local restaurant; vegetarian options are available if needed. After lunch you will move on to the Citadel of Salah Eldein and the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali — so named because its interior and exterior walls are covered with alabaster. You will then go to Old Cairo to view historic sites including the Hanging Church, built in the 3rd and early 4th centuries in the basilica style. The day concludes with a visit to the bustling Khan El Khalili bazaar before you are taken back to your hotel.
