program The pyramids The Sphinx The Egyptian Museum City tour in Cairo Having lunch We will pick you up from the hotel at 3:00 in the morning and drive to Cairo about 430 km. with an air-conditioned car or mini-bus. Around 5:30 a.m. we take a short break in a restaurant. We arrive in Cairo around 8 a.m. and first take a small city tour of old Cairo so that you can get to know real life in Egypt better. Then we visit the Egyptian Museum, the treasury of 7000 years of civilization. The legacies of ancient Egyptian culture are preserved in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, one of the most important museums in the world. They tell the story of an intelligent people. We then have lunch in a typical local restaurant and then drive to Giza, where we visit the Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple. The pyramids are certainly the most spectacular evidence of a high culture on the Nile.

From initial booking to the end of the trip the process was stress free and easy. We received messages regularly keeping us informed of what to expect and everything ran true to form. We were met at 2am at our hotel by our driver Mohammed and our Egyptologist guide Ghergas (apologies if incorrectly spelt). Both of them were very friendly, knowledgable and made us feel safe throughout the experience and made it a really memorable day. Its a long day, but was well worth it.
