You will spend a day at some of Egypt’s most famous sites, beginning at the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. You will visit the Giza pyramids, the only remaining wonder of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world, and see the Sphinx — the statue with a human face and the body of a lion that Ancient Egyptians considered a god. As you move through the site, you will take in the scale and history of these ancient monuments. Along the way you will also explore one of Cairo’s lesser-known treasures: the Cave Church in Mokattam Mountain. Often called the Monastery of St Simon or the Tanner Monastery, this large Coptic complex contains six churches. The largest, Saint Simon, is considered the biggest church in Egypt and is said to accommodate around 20,000 people. At the end of your tour you will be transferred back to Cairo airport.
