A felucca is a traditional Egyptian sailboat, and many visitors enjoy a slow sail from Aswan to Luxor along the Nile. You’ll travel quietly under sail, with the gentle movement of the river setting the pace. The boats are fitted with mattresses and very warm blankets, so you can rest comfortably as you float from one riverside stop to the next. Along the way you’ll stop by day to visit the Elephantine islands and the Kom-Ombo temple. Evenings are calm and peaceful on the water; you’ll sleep on the quiet Nile and take in a star-studded sky as the boat rests. The combination of river travel, riverside visits and simple onboard comforts makes this a classic way to experience Egypt’s Nile scenery and ancient sites.
